COLD MOUNTAIN
2013 – 2018    French Alpes
The photographs follow my longing for silence and solitude as my love for the mountains. Over a period of six years I worked on extended trips in various regions of the French Alpes.
The works reflects the sublime and fleeting decisive moment in nature. Besides, the question of how we perceive what we see and how to find new ways of expressing what is felt, kept me returning over the years. On the emotional level the images can be understood as vignettes, small poems, or expressions of the inner realms and feelings of the author.
The title COLD MOUNTAIN refers to the legendary Zen monk, poet and hermit Hanshan “Cold Mountain” from the 7th century in China.


The book COLD MOUNTAIN was published by HARTMANN BOOKs 2021 and is out of print, a LTD Edition of is still available in the shop.
